Nordic Nigeria Connect 2025 returns to Lagos, uniting Nordic and Nigerian leaders to boost sustainable growth through digital transformation, green energy, healthcare, and climate-smart agriculture.

Forging Partnerships for Sustainable Impact

The fourth edition of Nordic Nigeria Connect (NNC) launches in Lagos on October 21, 2025, hosted by the embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. This event is put together by Nordic trade missions and business groups.

The conference brings together top-level government officials, innovation leaders, and private sector players. This year's theme, "Forging Partnerships for Sustainable Impact," aims to accelerate Nigeria's transition to a greener, more inclusive economy.

How Nordic Nigeria Connect 2025 Will Deliver Sustainable Partnerships

  1. NNC 2025 is a high-level business forum to deepen Nordic-Nigerian collaboration in energy, digital, health, and agriculture.
  2. The event is scheduled for October 21, 2025, in Victoria Island, Lagos.
  3. Organised by the four Nordic embassies with support from Business Finland, Sweden, and Denmark. Speakers include Dr Bosun Tijani, Nigeria's Minister of Communications; Lina Gandlse Hansen, State Secretary, Denmark; and CEOs from APM Terminals, Empower New Energy, Development Bank of Nigeria, and Norfund.

Over four key tracks—Digital Transformation, Green Energy, Health Innovation, and Resilient Agriculture. Nordic and Nigerian panellists will showcase cross-border projects, investments, and successful models for sustainable inclusive growth.

The Case for Nordic-Nigerian Cooperation

The Nordic model brings responsible business, innovation, and sustainability, focusing on long-term solutions that benefit people, planet, and profit. Nordic countries view Nigeria as a vital strategic partner for Africa's green transformation. According to H.E. Sanna Selin, Finnish Ambassador, "These aren't just trade priorities, these are transformative partnerships for sustainable development and inclusive wellbeing."

Many key sectors are ripe for disruption. Nordic investments in renewable energy are strategic in bringing about reductions in pollution, lowering emissions, and long-term costs. Digital partnerships aim to advance Nigeria's technological leap through AI, broadband, and e-governance. Healthcare innovation and climate-smart agriculture are set to benefit from Nordic tech and financing.

How Implementation Will Be Achieved

The event promises to deliver practical guidance through cross-sector panels, keynote addresses, and real-world solution showcases. Projects include affordable solar, telemedicine, and digital logistics. Breakout sessions will enable knowledge sharing and new alliances.

As Norwegian Ambassador H.E. Svein Baera put it, "Investing in renewable energy is a win-win-win. Norway is ready to invest, cooperate, and share expertise on renewables."

What comes next?

Participants will leave with:

  1. A roadmap for public-private action on green growth and inclusive innovation.
  2. Commitments to deepen sectoral partnerships, supported by policy and financing mechanisms.
  3. New Nordic-Nigerian ventures which will be ready for scale, especially in energy, agriculture, and digital infrastructure.

NNC 2025's model reinforces the importance of objective, data-driven reporting (, emphasising measurable impact and cross-sector transparency.

Nordic Nigeria Connect 2025 sets a collaborative benchmark: Nordic commitment meets Nigerian opportunity in pursuit of inclusive, climate-ready development.

The forum's agenda, data-backed and clearly framed for impact, targets the expansion of green energy, digital transitions, and resilient food and health sectors, promising durable progress for Nigerian communities and the broader economy.
